  1. Let’s hope that people are not being biased with their opinion just because of the korean hot guys and kpop. I’m not saying it is bad because i personally like Lee Min Ho and Kim Bum too. But we should all appreciate all of the versions as they all have their good points. I like all the characters in all the versions. (Japanese, Taiwanese, Chinese and Korean.) They should not be compared as they were made different times. Especially the Taiwanese version as i watched it when i was 5. >.> i like all of the versions especially how the music are used in the dramas.
    I like how Taiwan are the first ones who are most of the time adapting manga to drama. For example, Devil Beside You, It Started With A Kiss etc.
    I have to point out i like Episode 1 Part 1 10:04. So cool how the music is used.

  4. lol channel 8. I rmb this in channel 8 last time. But i dun really watch it. My frens are crazy about F4 during primary school days but i hav no idea about taiwan popstar seriously. i know tht time alrdy have S.H.E but i dun know wht is tht. I dun hear chinese song until when i was in sec school.

    At tht time, i was more concern about english band like westlife, n-sync, a1, bsb.

  6. Watched BoF (Korean Version), watched Hana Yori Dango (though I still have to get to HYD2), so now I’m trying out Meteor Garden. So far, I’m liking the Korean Version the best, but I have yet to finish the others.

    • the korean one is also the most recent one so they had time to improve on it.  This one is almost 10 years older than the other versions.

  11. I really like Dao Ming Si’s hair, it is really handsome.
    F4 looks really funny when they were their normal cloths.
    Shan cai is really brave and she can challenge F4.

  12.  if they were to upgrade it to IN now trends then i bet 100% it’d be jaw dropping.. cause back when this came out watching it from my point of view everything was upgraded than i normally see it. anyway this drama still captures my heart out of all the others…

  13. I say original are always the best, And since this was filmed a long long time ago of course you guys would prefer the korean one cause its caught up in the latest trends. Anyways im forevr loving this drama and i prefer the original taiwanese F4 than all the remakes 🙂 And Jerrry yan is soo hot with his adorable dimples here :3

[YT] I remember when this came out years ago I had no interest in it at all, but then recently I watched “Boys Over Flowers” and since I’m done with that I decided to watch Meteor Garden haha..I admit we’re spoiled with the extravagance and hot looking actors on BoF but it’s still interesting to watch all of them, see how the directors interpret everything depending on the year and country. Wonder how an American version would look like if, hypothetically, they were to make one too ;P

    • If the Americans made this drama they would butcher the storyline with nudity, more violence, and teen sex. The music would be awful and they would choose actors/actresses based on looks and popularity with teenagers, not based on acting talent. The target group would not include older adults who also enjoyed the Korean and Taiwanese dramas.

  20. [YT] Meteor Garden 1 rocks! I’ve read from somewhere that they did not have much budget to spend on clothes and production back then but when it was aired in 2001, this drama was really hitted and the main characters gained a lot of popularities in Taiwan and throughout Asia. I also like the chemistry between Dao Ming Si and Shan Cai in this version. I think all three versions (MG, HYD and BOF) are entertaining to watch an explore the different languages and cultures.

  23. [YT] Boys over Flowers is only better because it was made recently. Meteor Garden was made in 2001, i think Meteor Garden is better because it’s the original drama.

[YT] i’m gonna have to disagree with everyone and say that the taiwanese version is my favorite. i don’t watch a lot of asian movies and tv shows, which would probably make my standards a little low. but i prefer the taiwanese version because i prefer the drama/serious tone of it, in contrast to the lighter korean version. it’s just that the story seems so sad and ironic so i think the taiwanese version’s serious tone does it more justice.

  71. [YT] I finished watching BOF. I loved it so much simply because Korean F4s were so damn hot. (sorry, I may sound shallow, but I couldn’t resist those prince charming handsome F4s….^^;;) Watching BOF was like eating a very sweet candy.

    And now that I finished BOF, I am curious about other versions. Starting today, I am going to watch this version. After MOG, I am gonna watch HYD as well.

  76. [YT] But the girl here is much better in looks and dress sence.. In Korean version her friend had normaloutfit, but the main girl was always dresses as idiot. Plus I like the dialogs, its already making more sense to the behavior of the heroes.

  77. [YT] I just finished watching Korean version and went to see how main characters look in other movies. But now I decided to watch Thai version all over, as F4 in Korean are the best in looks, and I don’t agree with those who say that it doesn//t matter, only the level of acting. But to beleive that everybody was so crazy about these guys the actors should be up to the level (ji hoo is LOL).

Everyone has opinions, but don’t bash one or the other just because the story is different. Honestly it would be boring if they were all exactly alike! Chill out you guys!

    The author of hana yori dango likes the korean version. For her that’s the best version because the story of the korean version and her novel are the same. In Taiwanese version and Japanese version there are a lot of stories that has change. And she hate it..

  86. [YT] When I tried to watch this drama last year. I really really like the story. It became my best favorite drama. But right now that there is a korean version called boys over flowers. This drama turn down and it is not already my best favorite drama. I found the korean version is better, because it had a full of action romance and comedy. And the f4 guys is handsome than the f4 of this drama.

  95. [YT] I’m starting to like this version. Finally decided to watch it since people have been saying how it actually follows the manga (never read it). Even though it’s less fancy, I think the plot is better than the other ones. I kind of like the whole olden day theme since the drama was shot a long time ago. It is less crazy than the other two versions (only watched the first episode of the Korean version), and I like the change. I can see why people say it is one of the ideal dramas to watch.

[YT] SPOIL ALERT! that’s because the K version is lacking a second season to clean it up..the J version had both a 2 season and a full length movie to really go into their relationship plus the K version had a feel good but what I felt was a non-romantic ending kind of reminded me of the 2 season ending to It Started WIth A Kiss which was also dissapointing

  122. [YT] I completely agree with you, i think the T ver is the best than the others version. I dont really like the K ver, cuz like u said it is over the top. The story line was kind of draggy, en confusing, I mean It should be a love story between jan di en jun pyo, but there were way too many scene between jan di en ji hoo. And I think There isnt any chemestry between jan di and jun pyo. But it was entertaining.

Barbie is pretty & cute. I only wcth HYD after 1 month I stop already b/c I dont like it, i’m just curious of the japanese version. Mg 4 me is the best.

  173. [YT] I agree so much. I love all incarnations of Hana Yori Dango (except for maybe that one movie which is just a bit too hard to stomach lol) but really, they’re all awesome in their own way.

    I have such a soft spot for MG though because it’s the first one I watched and fell in love with. Looking back, the clothes, acting and everything isn’t half as polished as the other versions of HYD, but I can’t hate MG because I loved it so much back in the day.

    PS: I think MG has the best red tag.

  220. [YT] hyd strictly follows origianal Manga setting and story. i mean after all, the manga is japanese one. anyway, hyd is pretty cute and fun to watch too. I just wish that they could have done more justice on casting for Sojiro and Akira (not that they are ugly).

  222. [YT] no matter how many versions of meteor garden different countries (e.g. korea and Japan) re-make this show NO ONE can beat the Taiwanese version. the actors and the actress are unbelievably awesome… they’re too good!!
