Mei is so annoying…
taiwanese dialect is minnan to me. at least it is still spoken in taiwan. when i went to fujian province, i was disappointed to hear people in xiamen and other fujian cities speaking in mandarin. minnan became obsolete now?? but it is still widely spoken in rural areas.
maybe, city people don’t want to be seen as Provincial? that was why they like to speak in mandarin?
