  28. unfortunately there may or may not be a season 2 due to the fact that the actors need to schedule their time to match the filming schedule. This is often not an easy requirement to meet. I will want to see a season 2. Nevertheless, I appreciate the ending a lot!!! It wasn’t rush and the recap are matched perfectly. Brings back lots of memories over the last few months while I am watching. Thank you director! Thank you the production team!

    • the ending part between Gongxi and Lian actually makes me wonder…maybe after learning that Gongxi still believes in whatever he told her in their childhood, Lian realizes that she is still too innocent and young. Does he still love her at this point?Or maybe it puts him off for the moment, that’s why he says he hopes they’ll climb to the acting summit together;pats her head like a big brother..not sure if my interpretation is accurate,without having read the manga..which chapter is  this scene in?thanks

      also my question is, does he realize she is also in love with him?my guess is probably not.

      just my interpretation of this unsatisfactory ending. but there are some nice fanfiction out there, if anyone needs a ‘closure’,there’s your fix….

  74. Okay, I actually really liked the ending to this season. It provides good closure. There definitely is potential for a second season given what Shang said at the end, so lets all cross our fingers and pray to the drama gods. Overall, a great drama!! Very good performances by the actresses and actors. 🙂

  78. a fantastic drama, but i’ll like a season 2, with more of Donghae/Shang… honestly , this season makes me think that siwon and ivy were the two main characters, whereas donghae was an extended cameo….his parts were NOT ENOUGH… I WANT MOREEEE of donghae!!! Overall , an interesting drama with a good plot ^0^

  97. obviously, there might be season 2. the open ended episode 25 probably because manga has not ended yet and the drama budget might not able to produce more than 25 episodes yet. if the drama received well from audience, season 2 will be coming in foreseen future.

    this circumstances same goes to skip beat anime. the response for anime was not too bright (largely due to its night airtime)  thus we had yet to hear any green light for season 2 anime. f.y.i, the anime also had 25 episodes only.

    for those who are dissatisfied with this ending, i suggest you all go to read skip beat manga instead for further plot. please do not scold or complaint that episode 25 is bad (except if you want to complaint that you need more) ^_^. I ABSOLUTELY CRAZED FOR SEASON 2!!

    omg!! i thought people were saying that siwon and ivy doesn’t have any intimate scenes closer than the hug hehe! they have a kissing scene in this episode though hehehe. but that was hilarious because it was all gong xi’s imaginations.
    wow, i’m so impressed with this show. i personally felt it was well done so i don’t get what people are complaining about. i really hope there’s a second one<3 i think they have established a great casting group. and hopefully the manga will end soon so the whole show can be filmed LOL.

  115. i think the main point is… the mange itself isn’t finished yet so you can’t expect a proper ending when this is only a mere small part of the whole storyline in the beginning! stop complaining and just read the manga if you want to find out what happens. but they’re not even officially together in there yet either.

    • Most Taiwanese dramas don’t have second seasons. This one is very unlikely to have a second season due to the fact that it’s not so popular.

  201. To be honest , I am really upset by the ending. I would like to end at the kiss too, but I do hope there is a second season because this drama is so good. I waited so long for it to finish filming till it actually airing. This is just not enough! I still feel so sad…

    • 這本身就是要照著漫畫演…這並不是 “漫畫改編” 的戲  而是慢畫翻拍~ 所以版權不能亂改~
      漫畫目前也還沒有結局…….
      (我也覺得幹嘛要找這種沒什麼劇情的戲拍 T^T…..演員演技好  卻被爛劇情破壞了~)

        但最後一句評論我不能接受，《Skip Beat~華麗的挑戰》這部漫畫劇情一點都不爛，
        會翻拍完全是因為是”暢銷漫畫” 加上動畫其實也是停在暗月篇這裡，
        所以，忠於原著的答案很明顯；
        除非有更多資金和合約、時間，不然根本不可能會延長集數。
        (而且我記得沒錯，已經有延長兩集讓故事更完整了，這集記者的提問讓我笑了)

        當然大發和始源、東海都很棒，不然當初我應該不會看翻拍的XD
        只能說編劇盡力了，其中一些巧思還是有的，
        在不能大改的前提下，我覺得不錯了。

  274. Why the ending like this?!!!!! If Shang never said he wants to woo GX back, at least we can assume that GX will be with Lian as she’s starting to fall for him and Lian already likes her. She’ll definitely be successful ‘cos her acting skills are good. BUT Shang said he’ll try to woo GX back again. So how in the world are we gonna know if he did it. Season 2 please! Best with these original cast!!

  278. did everyone actually thought there would be a definitive ending where gongxi ends up with someone when the anime never had an ending and the actual manga has been going for 10 years without kyoko being paired up with either sho or ren? 

    i knew there wouldn’t be a satisfying ending when i first watched it…sad, but what can you do? =/

    at least we got a kiss…although i’m quite annoyed it was gongxi’s imagination…technically she shouldn’t have such strong feelings towards lian to imagine something like that…

  299. It’s not a lousy ending. If you’ve read the manga, it actually ends like that if the drama was follow the manga. This only like 1/10 of the manga only. And even the latest chapter of the manga doesn’t hint that an ending is coming.

    2. Great that they played Mr. Simple at the beginning:D
    3. The BTS was so touching,I’m going to miss the whole cast!:( and Donghae was so cute how he wanted to hide his tears but failed^^

  303. ehmm, most drama taiwan/japan which adapted by manga really has “polite” ending (?).hehehe. it means, they respect a writer of manga.so, they try to not to make big different gap between story line’s drama and manga. if on manga has’nt finish yet, so they make it on drama too 🙂 like ISWAK or Glass Mask. oowhh, but i wan’t more episode :)) hahaha. but thx to crew 🙂

  322. OMG SKIP BEAT, WHY MUST YOU END THIS WAY. I feel so ambivalent towards the ending! It’s like hopeful but depressing at the same time cuz she doesn’t get together with Lian!!! Hopeful in that Gong Xi has finally let go of her past and finds a purpose for herself. She re-learns how to love and establishes her own identity. BUT OMG she doesnt end up with Lian T__________T, they didn’t even hint that they were gonna end up together :((. I reckon Gong Xi is totally ready to love again and Lian is obviously an important person in her life now and vice versa! HAHA I guess we can all assume they will end up together in time!! 🙂 And Shang OMG he sorta touched me too cause he realised how important Gong Xi was to him and decided to ask for Gong Xi’s forgiveness once’s he is more well established in the entertainment industry!! XD. but i think it would have been better if they ended it with the kiss scene. with this, they can still go with season 2 by showing that it is just gongxi’s imagination.2. the airplane at the end.
